You’ve bought the air fryer and a few air fryer accessories (like some pots and racks) to go with it. But you can’t put it off any longer; it’s time to get moving.
But what are you going to cook? And where do you start?
Well here are a couple of suggestions that will help you take those first steps. They won’t cost you a lot of money and we believe that you will get plenty of use out of them.
Air Fryer Recipe Book
What Is it?
A cookbook containing recipes written solely for the new appliance in your life.
Why Do I Need One?
Getting started air frying can be a bit daunting. The very fact that you can cook in so many different ways in a standard model can be quite overwhelming. Do you go straight for the honey soy chicken wings, or is it best to knock out a pizza? Or you like the thought of baking some healthy muffins for breakfast, but have no idea if you can use your regular go-to recipe in your air fryer or not.
If you’d like more information on what works best in an air fryer, you can read more here.
A decent air fryer cookbook will give you some basic tips, boost your confidence and set you on the right path. Once you’ve baked a few cupcakes and mastered the crispy crunch on a homemade arancini ball, you’ll feel more confident about playing with favourite recipes and trying to adapt them to your fryer yourself.
Yes. There are loads of resources out there. Many air fryers and the sets of air fryer accessories sold with them include recipe booklets. And some of these are great.
There are also loads of recipe ideas and meal planning suggestions online. In fact, we have a few favourites up on this website and will be continuing to add to our database, so why not bookmark our recipe page and come back and check it every once in a while?
But whatever way you look at it, an air fryer cookbook is still a sensible investment. We’ve used more than a few in our time and can recommend these three (all available from Amazon):
– Elena Rose’s Air Fryer Cookbook for Beginners
– Jenson E Williams’ Air Fryer Recipes for Beginners and Advanced Users
– Gina Kleinworth’s Essential Air Fryer Cookbook for Two: Perfectly Portioned Recipes
Air Fryer Magnetic Cheat Sheet Set
What Are They?
These are colour-coded, easy to read tables which give you the temperature, cooking time and portion size of various foods that you may wish to air fry.
They are waterproof and, more importantly, oil-proof, so spilling things on them as you cook won’t be an issue.
They come with magnets, so you can stick them up on your fridge or even on the side of your air fryer for quick reference.
Why Do I Need Them?
They are ace!
They cover all the basics and more. If you want to prepare pork chops your own way, but aren’t sure how long to blast them in the air fryer for, this handy chart has you covered. Similarly, if you fancy some eggplant chips, but aren’t sure what size to cut them, help is at hand. And if the thought of eggplant chips has grabbed your interest, you can read more here.
Of all the air fryer accessories out there, these magnetic cheat sheets are particularly useful if you are just getting to know your new appliance and need a bit of a push in the right direction. They are also perfect if you don’t really like following recipes to the letter, but struggle to remember loads of times and temperature settings (and who doesn’t?). They give you the starting point and from there you can put your own spin on what you cook.
With foods split in to handy sections like Vegetables, Beef and Frozen Favourites, this is a really useful purchase that you’ll find yourself referring back to again and again.
This post is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to exploring the range of air fryer accessories that are out there. If you’d like to see what we think of some of the other options, you can read more here.
